On my way to class this morning I saw the most beautiful, little black girl in a pretty pink dress. I hollered to her mother “She is adorable!” The little girl, who was about two years old, just looked at me. Her mother smiled and said “Thank you” very demurely. By appreciating the beauty of the little girl in her little pink dress, I had validated the mother.
